Amazon…Coming to a Supply Chain Near You

Amazon’s growth can be partially explained by its ability to turn their own internal tools & need into profit centres (e.g. Amazon Cloud Services, Fulfillment by Amazon, etc).

Anyone in the e-commerce space knows shipping is one of the largest (and expensive costs) expense in such a business.

So, it makes sense Amazon looked to provide their own shipping and logistics, a.k.a. Amazon Transportation Services (ATS), back in 2015.

While ATS isn’t a sure-thing just yet as their cloud services has been, keep an eye out for how things play out with ATS and whether it can be an advantage (or pain) for your supply chain.
